Through research, I have rediscovered my childhood joy of reading. Sitting down to read about new articles and studies being performed feels like reading Sci-Fri comic books that I can contribute to

Through the 2023 BRUSH research program, Phillip performed research on the Acute effect of latanoprost on the morphology of iridocorneal angle ini dogs with ADAMTS10-open-angle glaucoma (ADAMTS-19-OAG). Glaucoma is a neurodegenerative disease with no cure, leading to complete blindness due to the degeneration of the optic nerve. Open-angle glaucoma is caused by an unknown blockage to the main drain of aqueous humor, the trabecular meshwork (TM). It was hypothesized that morphological changes within the Anterior segment (ASG) of the eye were responsible. To test this, 16 eyes of 9 glaucomatous beagles were given a series of diagnostic tests Pre and Post a 2-hour period of latanoprost application. Diagnostics included IOP, ultrasound bio-microscopy (UBM). Significant changes were observed in the parameters used to measure morphological changes within the ASG of the eye via UBM.
